In Kind has been a long time in the making. I am a qualitative researcher. I’ve had an amazingly interesting life interviewing people all over the world for two decades. Yet I always knew my skills and passion for people sat outside the corporate world. I was always angsty - trying to find my niche and knowing I could do more and be more. But what? And who?
In 2015, an opportunity presented itself. I’d given up trying to reach someone who I’d been in a 7-year relationship with and didn’t treat as well as I could have. I wanted to apologize, but he had closed the door to me. I thought, “I still want to release this, for myself if not for him. If he hears it - great. If not, I can let go anyway.”
I came to understand the power and healing of emotional release. Turns out, baggage lives in our organs, tissues, cells - and of course minds and hearts.
I began to experience the profound energy gift of release, and then I thought - if it gave this much spaciousness to me, it will work for all humans.
So you’re here because your interest is piqued. Maybe you heard about an episode, or someone you know was a guest. This is your space. In it you can listen to the podcast, answer questions and see how others did too, and read about empathy and the human emotional experience. The only agenda you’ll find here is to help you love yourself more.
In every moment, there is a choice. Empathy is a learned skill - not an innate personality trait! We can learn to view each other as far more alike than different, and learn to speak to ourselves kindly. It’s a daily practice, and it starts with each individual. Dive in and feel how your life changes with self and other empathy at the helm.
